Cabinet Approves Draft Law on Combating Doping in the Field of Sport

HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting, which was held at the Amiri Diwan yesterday's morning.

Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Issa Saad AlJafali al-Nuaimi stated that the Cabinet reviewed topics on its meeting's agenda as following:

Firstly The Cabinet took the necessary measures to issue a draft law amending some provisions of Decree Law No. 17 of 2010 regulating the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), after it had reviewed the Shura Council's recommendation on the draft law.

Secondly The Cabinet approved the draft law on combating doping in the field of sport. The Ministry of Culture and Sports (MCS) has prepared the draft law within the framework of upgrading the Qatari sport system in line with international standards. The MSC has also taken all necessary measures to preserve the health of athletes and avoid harmful practices that violate sport ethics, values and noble goals.
