Beji Caid Essebsi, President of Tunisia, today received H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, during an official reception held for Arab interior and justice ministers, who met in the Tunisian capital, Tunis.
Sheikh Saif headed the UAE delegation at the joint meeting of the Arab Interior Ministers Council and the Arab Justice Ministers Council that was held today, in the presence of Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, Minister of Justice, and with the participation of ministers of interior and justice of Arab countries, as well as Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Kouman, Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, along with representatives of the Arab League, the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, and Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.
The meeting discussed the means of implementing Arab security and judicial agreements, as well as Arab strategies, agreements and resolutions related to combatting terrorism.
At the end of the meeting, Arab ministers of interior and justice signed a number of security and judicial agreements, protocols and amendments to previous Arab accords, under the framework of multilateral legal mechanisms aimed to strengthen the crime-fighting efforts made by the participating countries.
The council's meeting was attended by members of the UAE delegation, who included Rashid Mohammed Al Mansouri, UAE Ambassador to Tunisia, and Mohammed Hamad Al Badi, Chief Justice of the Supreme Federal Court and other officials.
