Preparatory stage students shine in SOP Football Competitions

DOHA, Preparatory schools students made impressive performance in their football competitions at the Schools Olympic Program 2018-2019 held on Wednesday.

Wednesday's football competitions for preparatory schools (boys) at the Aspire Academy playgrounds have seen positive interaction from all students, coaches and Academy officials.

In group A competitions, Hamza bin Abdulmotaleb school and Al Emam Al Shafae cruised their way to the third round stage, following their deserving wins.

In group B competitions, the winners were Ali bin Abi Taleb school and Religious Institute, while in group C, Abi Obaida and Al Ahnaf schools recorded deserving wins to book their spots in the third round.

The SOP is held annually as a collaborative effort of Qatar School Sports Federation (QSSF) and Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with hundreds of student athletes competing from all over Qatar.

The SOP committee aims to spread a culture of sports throughout Qatar's schools and to engage the entire community in active and healthy lifestyles while retaining local values and traditions.
