With an invitation from the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mohammed Salem Al-Rashidi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Senegal and Non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Sierra Leone, has participated in the inauguration ceremony of the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio.
During the event, held at the Freetown National Stadium, seven African presidents, a large number of representatives of countries, governments and ambassadors, also attended.
On the sidelines of the event, Al-Rashidi met with Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, Vice President of Sierra Leone, and conveyed him the regards of the UAE wise leadership. He also conveyed him the best wishes of the Government of the UAE to the new government of Sierra Leone and wished more stability and prosperity to the people of Sierra Leone.
The UAE diplomat also met with Alie Kabba, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone, and conveyed him the greetings of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them.
The two ministers extended thanks for the support provided by the UAE for Sierra Leone and wished for more cooperation in all fields.
Vice President of Sierra Leone asked Al-Rashidi to convey his greetings to the UAE's wise leadership, government and people, wishing further progress and prosperity to the UAE.
