Indonesian, Iranian Presidents Discuss Boosting Cooperation

Indonesian President Joko Widodo met Tuesday with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi, who is visiting Jakarta.

During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries, in addition to discussing the latest developments at the global level.

Following the meeting, officials of the two countries signed 11 documents and cooperation memoranda, including preferential trade agreement, visa cancelation, promoting cultural exchange and cooperation in the areas of sciences and technology in oil and gas, along with other fields.

The three-day visit by Iranian president will include meetings with merchants and businessmen from the two countries, which is the first official visit of an Iranian president to Indonesia in 17 years. (QNA)
