Doha, President of the International Snooker Federation Mubarak Al Khayarin praised the great success of the State of Qatar in hosting the IBSF World Men's Snooker Championship, the first of nine international championships in snooker and English billiards that are held simultaneously in Doha.
He stressed that the championship competitions were held in an ideal manner at the technical and organizational levels, praising at the same time the role of the Qatari federation in developing the sport of snooker and spreading it at the global and continental levels.
In special remarks to Qatar News Agency , Al Khayarin said that the IBSF World Men's Snooker Championship achieved many successes both on the technical and organizational levels, and the greatest success witnessed was Qatar's Ali Al Obaidli's win of the world title, becoming the first Qatari and Arab player to make this achievement.
The President of the International Snooker Federation noted the State of Qatar's excellence in organizing the most prominent sporting events in the world and in various games because of the capabilities and human cadres who are capable of always making a success. He pointed out that the Qatari Federation has provided all that can ensure the success of international tournaments through its constant work with the international and Asian federations to develop the game, helping it organize various tournaments and produce them in the best possible way.
President of the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation Mohammed Al Ramzani confirmed that Ali Al Obaidli's crowning with the World title is a great achievement for Qatari snooker in particular and Qatari sports in general.
Speaking to QNA, Al Ramzani said that Ali Al Obaidli presented high technical levels throughout his participation in the tournament and succeeded in winning in all his matches thanks to his high concentration and emotional stability.
He added that the tournament witnessed the participation of a distinguished group of world champions and ranked players which was evident in the high technical levels seen by the tournament from the group stage to the knockout rounds.
Al Ramzani stated that the Federation is continuing work to hold the rest of the world championships in a distinguished manner, wishing success to the Qatari players whether in the World Men's Team Snooker Championship or the Men's 6-Red Championship.
