Jaafari: Kazan Forum is a window of opportunity for Russia and Islamic world

The Syrian Ambassador in Moscow, Bashar al-Jaafari affirmed that the International Economic Forum, ‘Russia – Islamic World: Kazan Forum’ 2023 is an excellent chance to unite and resist the Western policy.

“Kazan Forum is a window of opportunity for Russia and the Islamic world to boost cooperation based on common interest,” Sputnik reported al-Jaafari as saying on the sidelines of the Forum.

He added, “Concerning the sanctions against Russia, it would be a mistake to call such measures as sanctions due to the fact that, with respect to the international law, they are considered as unjust coercive unilateral economic measures.”

“All actions undertaken by Europe, the United States, and the West in general are of a political nature. Despite the fact that they are economic, they are driven by hidden political motives.”

Al-Jaafari went on to say that “The goal of the West is to pressure Russian policy to achieve concessions that serve Western interests only; so they did with Syria.”

He concluded his speech affirming that Kazan Forum is an excellent chance to unite and to resist the Western policy, noting that Syria’s participation in the Forum is a form of cooperation and solidarity with Russia in light of the Western unilateral measures imposed on both countries.
