MOPH: Using the latest technologies to ensure food safety

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) celebrates World Food Safety Day, which falls on June 7, under the slogan "Safe Food Today for a Healthy Tomorrow" within the permanent slogan of this day, which is "Food Safety is an Issue of Concern to All".

In this context, MOPH organizes many important activities and events that include online workshops on food safety, including three workshops for productive families over a period of three days and a workshop for imported food companies under the name "Some Common Errors in the Ingredients of Food Products".

Ms. Wassan Abdulla Al Baker, Director of Food Safety and Environmental Health at MOPH said: "The celebration of World Food Safety Day is an important occasion to promote food safety awareness and warn against food and health hazards arising from the consumption of unsafe food".

She added that the food locally manufactured or produced is examined to ensure that it is free of the various chemical or biological food contaminants or toxins, using the latest technologies and devices to reach the highest standards contained in the Codex Alimentarius Commission, the World Health Organization, and GCC Standardization Organization.
