MSDF Launches Program of National Policies for Shelters and Social Work

The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) has launched the program of national policies for shelters and national standards for social work with the objective of optimizing the quality of services offered to the targeted categories, promoting the human welfare and fulfilling the fundamental humanitarian needs.

The program coincides with the phase of the implementation of the project of building a supervisory program in the social work institutions at MSDF that was launched in cooperation with Doha Institute for Graduate Studies to qualify the targeted categories to undertake the supervisory role on the specialists crews operating in the field of social service in their work sites.

During the training period, a training manual on supervision will be prepared for use in the future to train specialists, in order to work on evaluating the experience and disseminating it to all social workers working in all sectors in the country, to highlight the importance of "professional supervision" as an effective tool that contributes to raising the level of performance of the social worker, and ensuring the achievement of minimum requirements for practicing the profession of social work.
