The Digital Incubation Center (DIC), affiliated to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC), announced the winning start-ups of the 'Make the Deal' program, one of the main events hosted at the Entrepreneurship Zone at Qatar IT Conference and Exhibition (QITCOM) 2019 under the theme Smart Safe Cities. 15 start-ups won grants worth QR22.6 million from international companies and investors, in addition to the signing of 32 memorandums of understanding between start-ups and investors.
Make the Deal is an opportunity to connect high-impact technology startups with local, regional and international investors, and it aims to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurship and investment.
Duha Al Buhendi, DIC Manager, commented, We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our winning startups, and thank the investors for their belief in these budding projects. In this third edition of Make the Deal, we are delighted to bring together startups and investors from so many countries across the globe. She added, We were also pleased at DIC to provide mentoring and guidance in the lead-up to the pitching phase. We look forward to working with those distinguishing to contribute to the development of new technologies and innovations that help in Qatar's digital transformation.
