During the year 2019, the State of Qatar has succeeded to achieve a strong leap forward in the world of cyber security worldwide since the State of Qatar has joined the list of the best 20 states worldwide in this domain. According to the rankings of Global Cybersecurity Index GCI, the State of Qatar has been ranked 17th internationally and ranked 3rd in the Arab world. Therefore, this has made Doha the capital of organizing several conferences related to this sector, like the Munich Security Conference (MSC) Cyber Security Summit, which was attended by several representatives of the most important pioneering countries in this field.
Although the State of Qatar has attained a prominent standing among the top countries in this sector, in the past year, it focused on launching several programs related to bolstering information security systems. Moreover, various entties of the private sector have followed this trend. This is through adopting a host of measures aiming to bolster its cyber systems.
According to the Global Cybersecurity Index GCI, Qatar has managed to attain advanced position worldwide and in the Arab world in the field of cyber security in 2019, since the State of Qatar has been ranked as 17th internationally and ranked as 3rd in the Arab world. Therefore, according to the index that has been recently issued by UN International Telecommunication Union (ITU), this has made Qatar move forward by exceeding eight ranks at the level of international rankings, compared to the year 2017 during which Qatar was ranked 25th worldwide.
