Minister of Transport: Doha Metro helped reduce 25% of traffic congestion

HE Jassim bin Saif al Sulaiti, Minister of Transport and Communications, First Deputy Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, said: the future plans are very purposeful plans that crystallized by finding modern transportation such as the metro and metro-link and some other transportation that you will see in the near future will help to reduce lot of congestion Traffic, saying: "The presence of such new modes of transportation contributed in reducing traffic congestion by a rate ranging between 20 to 25%, as the metro was able to achieve these results and we look in the near future for other solutions that will solve this problem."

Al Sulaiti added in a press statement on the sideline of the first workshop on traffic congestion management, under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) chairman, Sheikh Abullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, that the coming days will see the opening of parking lots near Metro stations for metro users which will help reduce traffic. In addition to the year 2021, which will witness the launch of new transportation on roads that the Metro does not reach.
