Hamad International Airport (HIA) hosted a celebration yesterday to announce the official poster for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which was designed by Qatari artist Bouthayna Al Muftah. The poster reflects the country’s culture and heritage, and the Qataris’ passion for the most popular game in the world.
The main poster of the tournament highlights the celebration of football and its widespread popularity in Qatar, the GCC region and throughout the Arab world, by depicting two components of the traditional headwear for men in Qatar and the region, the “Ghutra” and the “Iqal”, waving in the air.
It is noteworthy that the poster, which included the word “Hayya”, was designed by Qatari artist Bouthayna Al Muftah, who explained that she was inspired by the cheers of fans in different stadiums, and from encouraging voices that urge providing support in this regard.
