Mr. Hassan Jassim Al Sayed, the Assistant Undersecretary of Government Information Technology Sector at the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) said that MOTC is currently working on the development of the next digital government strategy, 2021-2026, which includes the latest technology in the field of e-government in addition to more specialized initiatives such as open data, using artificial intelligence and Block Qin.
He said in a press statement that the number of government services launched through Qatar's 2020 Digital Strategy has reached more than 2,500. Accomplishment rates in Qatar's Digital Strategy, which will be completed next year, are at a very advanced stage, and all initiatives launched with or were part of the Strategy are still under way and will be completed by the end of this year.
Mr. Al Sayed expressed his delight at the launch of Qatar Open Data Portal, which was launched last Sunday to disseminate government data on the Internet through a single national platform to facilitate public access to data and ensure its quality by providing it in accordance with international standards. He said that MOTC aspires through this Portal to strengthen the status of Qatar in the Global Transparency Index especially that the dissemination of government and the public sector data is one of the aspirations of all countries.
