Hamad International Airport (HIA) has partnered with Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation's (Kahramaa), National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency Tarsheed to mark Earth Day on April 22. HIA launched a two-week awareness campaign including a booth placed at the airport to highlight Qatar's contribution to combating climate change, to promote HIA's efforts to decrease its carbon foot-print, and to improve energy efficiency and conservation in Qatar.
This Campaign was launched by Abdulaziz Al Mass, HIA vice president of Commercial and Marketing; and engineer Abdulaziz Al Hammadi, Kahramaa Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department manager. Al Mass said in a press statement, during the campaign: We are delighted to collaborate with Tarsheed to celebrate Earth Day. At HIA, we believe in our environmental responsibility and are committed to tackling climate change within the context of our strategy. We are committed to supporting Tarsheed's initiatives and hope the booth will create awareness to passengers traveling through HIA.
Al Hammadi added that: Our partnership with HIA has given us the best platform for our booth to help raise awareness to global and local passengers traveling through the terminal. HIA is one of the most sustainable airports in the world and is joining hands with Tarsheed the Primary Government Program in sustainability in Qatar.
