GTA Announces Delaying Receiving Tax Declarations for Two Months

General Tax Authority (GTA) has announced extending the period of receiving tax declarations for extra two months so that the new deadline for submitting tax declarations related to the year 2019 will be on 30 August 2020.

This comes in the light of the continuing precautionary measures taken by the State of Qatar to curb the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), as well as the directions of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on providing citizens and residents with necessary facilitations, on top of which is maintaining the health and safety of everyone, as well as ensuring the continuity of life healthily and safely.

GTA also emphasized its full keenness to run the workflow in a manner that ensures the interest of all parties, highlighting that it is working closely with government entities to monitor the current situation, and it is fully aware of the current challenges, particularly the financial aspect. The Authority clarified that within the framework of its social responsibility, it is committed to providing enough guarantees for its partners and investors and dealing with ensuing financial consequences. GTA also expresses its full appreciation for the Authority’s close relationship with taxpayers and its government partners equally. Moreover, GTA emphasized its confidence that the united efforts exerted by all parties will not only help all of us in curbing the spread of the disease, but also will help in supporting our economy proactively.
