In the light of responding to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Ms. Mashael Ali Al Hammadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Information Technology Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC), has participated in the meeting of the international leaderships of digital government held via a videoconference, under the supervision of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
The meeting focused on knowledge exchange among countries pertaining to the most prominent challenges resulting from the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and identifying innovated digital initiatives to confront these challenges from the perspective of digital governments. Furthermore, the meeting included the best means of cooperation among the representatives of digital governments to benefit from technological solutions developed by OECD member countries.
During the meeting, Ms. Mashael Al Hammadi made a presentation in which she reviewed the most prominent digital solutions innovated by the State of Qatar in the light of confronting the novel Coronavirus, particularly in the health and education sectors. In addition, this included showing the most important achievements made by Qatar Digital Government related to the availability of communications and the usability of digital services, which are simple, quick and secure services. Thus, this has bolstered the measures to confront the spread of the Coronavirus and made it easy for citizens and residents to perform their duties through social distancing, in addition to facilitating the remote work of Government employees.
