The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) held yesterday morning a press conference at the ministry premises to announce the details of celebrating the World Teachers' Day.

Director of the Public Relations and Communication Department at MOEHE, Hassan Abdullah al-Mohammadi, said that Qatar has 14,037 teachers from 56 different nationalities in the public schools, pointing out that Qatar is one of the best countries in the world in terms of ratio of teacher to student with 12 students per teacher in Qatar.

He added that there are many programs producing public schools' teachers, including Tumouh program with 64 teachers, Qatar University graduating approximately 100 teachers, Teach for Qatar initiative providing 50 teachers, while 525 teachers are hired through external interviews.
