Qatar defeat UAE in Asian Men’s Youth Handball Championship

Manama: Team Qatar began their campaign at the 2022 Asian Men’s Youth Handball Championship on a winning note, beating the UAE 36-22 after an impressive show in Manama, Bahrain, yesterday.

The Championship is held in Manama, Bahrain, from 20 to 31 August.

This is the ninth edition of the tournament, which has been organised by the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) since 2005.

After the preliminary round, the two best teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals, while the teams ranked third and fourth will head to the 5-8 Placement Matches. Besides, the fifth-placed sides will face off in the 9-10 Placement Match, while the team ranked sixth in Group B will seal the 11th position.

The top five teams from the event will directly qualify for the 2023 IHF Men’s Youth (U19) World Championship, which will be held in Croatia in 2023.
