The State of Qatar welcomes the announcement by the United Nations of launching preliminary consultations for a comprehensive political process between the Sudanese parties, with the aim of reaching an agreement that will bring the country out of its current crisis and agree on a sustainable path of progress towards democracy and peace.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the State of Qatar's aspiration that the consultations will pave the way to reach a consensus formula that represents all spectrums of the brotherly Sudanese people and achieves their aspirations for freedom, peace and justice.

The Ministry renews the State of Qatar's full support for the unity, sovereignty and stability of Sudan.
