Major Abdulaziz Al Asmar Al Ruwaili, Director of Information Systems Department, at the General Department of Information Systems of the Ministry of Interior, revealed that "Qatar Digital Id card (QDI)" application has become available for Android users in Google and Huawei stores, after it was only available on the App Store during the launch period.

Major Al Ruwaili stressed that the digital identity card application is a strategic project and is considered a paradigm shift in electronic services at the state level, as it makes them more secure, opens the way to increase services provided to the public, and enhances digital transformation at the state level.

He explained that "Qatar Digital Id card (QDI)" is an application on smart phones and can be used to complete online transactions in a safer and easier way. The application can be a substitute for the card reader as it allows the users to access electronic services.
