MOEHE Sets Criteria for Exceptional Promotions

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) issued circulars No.16 and 17 for schools, to ensure the flexibility of workflow and provide the best services. Circular No.16 has urged schools to take prior approval for the commission of overtime from the assistant undersecretary for educational affairs, apart from those assigned to work on tasks and activities outside the official working hours set by the ministry.

MOEHE added that a school shall submit a request for approval on any additional work five days before starting to carry it out, and include all justifications and tasks to be done by the assignees, then await the prior approval and ensure there is financial provision in the budget that covers such expenditures, where the assignment period shall not exceed five days a month and may not be assigned during annual or official holidays, in addition to linking overtime payment with a fingerprint system, in coordination with the Salaries and Wages Section and Management of Information Systems Department.

Circular No.17 also followed on Ministerial Decision No.41 on the formation of a committee to consider exceptional promotion requests, in an effort by the competent authorities in the ministry to raise the performance of employees and recognize the distinguished among them, ensuring promotions are in accordance with the agreed criteria.
