Damascus, Syria condemned the blatant Zionist aggression against Islamic Republic of Iran sovereignty, which constitutes a violation of international law. 'The Zionist entity committed a new crime on Wednesday at dawn when it carried out a terrorist attack in the Iranian capital, Tehran, causing the martyrdom of the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Ismail Haniyeh. 'This despicable act came after a series of heinous Israeli attacks on several sites in the region, including the occupied Syrian Golan, Lebanon, and Iraq, in addition to the entity's continuing genocide massacres against Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the Ministry added. Syria considers the continued disregard of Israeli entity for international laws, its failure to comply with the resolutions of the Security Council and the General Assembly, and the calls of most countries of the world to stop its massacres, as potentially leading to the ignition of the entire region. Syria expresses its sta nd by the Islamic Republic of Iran and its solidarity with it, and offers its condolences to the Palestinian people, who are resisting and steadfast in the face of criminal aggression, and affirms its constant standing by them in their struggle and their legitimate rights to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
