The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB), represented by the Institute of Public Administration, signed an agreement with Qatar University's (QU) College of Business and Economics in training research and career development to serve common interests and empower and develop the human element in government agencies.
Through the five-year agreement, the College of Business and Economics will prepare research papers on current challenges facing government agencies to help find appropriate and innovative solutions, as well as prepare case studies and short research papers that enrich training programs.
It also aims to prepare reports for training programs as well as prepare and implement joint training programs to support innovation culture, entrepreneurship and sustainability, in addition to preparing research and benchmarks on the latest global trends in the field of training and reviewing the content of the training programs of the Institute of Public Administration.
Azza Al Ali, who oversees the duties of the Director of Knowledge for Capacity Building Department at CGB, said that the agreement comes within the framework of CGB's efforts to strengthen partnerships with governmental and semi-governmental agencies in Qatar, based on CGB's belief in national competencies and their role in advancing government development.
By partnering with QU, the CGB aims to prepare studies and research as well as provide training programs that suit the needs of government agencies and their employees, which contributes to improving public services by investing in national cadres, Al Ali added.
For her part, the Dean of the College of Business and Economics at QU Prof. Rana Sobh stated that the agreement comes within the framework of the college's endeavor to maximize its impact on the business environment and society locally and regionally and to activate its cooperation and partnerships with various stakeholders, through several initiatives that the college seeks to implement in next period.
Sobh also pointed out that these initiatives aim to link scientific research with the needs of society and spread scientific knowledge in a way that suits policymakers and managers, as well as participate in activities that lead to organizational and societal changes that contribute to making a fundamental impact on the way institutions work and their positive impact on the sustainable development of Qatar, socially and economically.
