Gaza - Ma'an - The spokesman for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Basal, said on Saturday that the Israeli occupation has targeted 13 centers for sheltering displaced people throughout the Strip since the beginning of August. This came in a press conference held by Basal in Gaza City, hours after the Israeli army bombed displaced people in the Al-Tabi'in School in the center of the city with three missiles. Basal stated that "the Israeli occupation targeted two floors of the Al-Tabi'een School, the first of which was housing displaced women and children, and the ground floor, which was a prayer hall for the displaced." He added: "Al-Tabi'in School is sheltering more than 6,000 displaced people who went there after the Israeli occupation forces destroyed their homes in more than one area in the Gaza Strip." He stated that "everyone was shocked by the scale of the great and terrifying massacre, due to the large number of martyrs and wounded, including children and women, some of whom were in pie ces and others were set on fire in a terrifying scene that did not take into account the slightest humanitarian considerations." The Civil Defense spokesman indicated that "among the martyrs of the massacre were 11 children and 6 women, in addition to dozens of serious injuries." He added, "Many of the remains have not been identified, and there are still missing people whose fate is unknown, after their families were informed that they were inside the school's prayer hall." He added: "What tears our hearts apart is that the martyrs have become mere numbers that are mentioned as if they are nothing, without the international community paying attention to the crimes committed against defenceless citizens and without directing any direct condemnations to this occupation, which has made it persist in targeting more shelters and schools." In turn, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mughair, Director of the Supply Department of the Civil Defense Authority, said: Al-Tabi'in School was targeted by three missiles, including at leas t one Mk-84 missile, which weighs 200 pounds. In turn, the Israeli occupation army claimed that the site it bombed near the "Al-Tabi'in" school was used by senior Hamas leaders, claiming that "about 20 Hamas and Jihad members were in the Al-Tabi'in school."
