An earthquake measuring 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Thursday the province of North Sulawesi in Indonesia. The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) said in a statement that the epicenter of the quake occurred at a distance of 124.61 km, at a depth of 10 km. There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far. Indonesia is regularly exposed to earthquakes, as it is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity. Source: Qatar News Agency
