Doha: The Qatari national basketball team are due to face Kuwait, on Tuesday, in the GCC U-18 Basketball Championship, hosted by the State of Kuwait during Jul.29 to Aug.2 at the Shaikh Saad Alabdullah Sport Hall Complex, with the participation of Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain. The Qatari team are due to face Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, and Oman in the following day, prior to wrapping up the games by facing Bahrain on Aug.2. The champion and runner-up of this edition of the GCC Championship will qualify for the Asian Cup finals to be held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, from Sept. 2 to 9. The Qatari team intended to prepare for this tournament by holding a three-week training camp in Istanbul, Turkiye, through which they played friendlies with Turkish teams, alongside Azerbaijan U-18 team.
