Ramallah - Ma'an - The Ramallah and Al-Bireh police managed on Monday to arrest a person who impersonated an employee of a famous international news channel, in order to defraud citizens and journalists by tricking them into registering for a course in an Arab country. The Public Relations and Media Department of the Police stated that after the General Investigations Branch of the Governorate Police received several complaints from citizens and journalists stating that the person took money from them and made them believe that this money was a registration fee for courses on the channel, and after receiving the money he disappeared and they could not reach him, only to discover that they had been defrauded after they attended the agreed upon place to receive the registration papers without anyone being present. Through the investigation and research procedures by the General Investigations Branch of the Governorate Police, which continued for two consecutive months to unravel the threads of this case, it b ecame clear that he was constantly changing his place of residence and impersonating different names in every fraud he carried out, as the suspect was arrested and when his statements were heard, he stated that he had carried out the fraud and deception.
