Social Development Minister receives BSS Chairman

Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, met Badie Jaberi, Chairman of the Bahá'í Social Society (BSS), and board members.

The two sides discussed the most important goals of the BSS aimed at building a society based on human values and principles that call for peaceful coexistence and tolerance among all.

They reviewed the BSS's projects and activities focusing on advancing women's role in society, coexistence, tolerance, peace, humanitarian and social services, as well as developing capabilities and skills in cooperation with relevant sectors.

Bahrain has been known for its open society and safe environment. It is famous for promoting peace and peaceful coexistence, Al Asfoor said.

The minister praised the efforts made by humanitarian and social associations in promoting a culture of peace and coexistence among peoples.

He emphasised the importance of civil society organisations' commitment to their developmental and social roles, as well as their institutional system for voluntary work and community service.
