Riyadh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh discussed Sunday with the Syrian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ayman Soussan ways to strengthen relations between the two countries. The Saudi minister welcomed the Syrian Ambassador, and wished him success in carrying out his duties. He stressed the importance of Syria's Arab and Islamic position. For his part , Soussan conveyed greetings of the Syrian Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf), Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed to his Saudi counterpart , and reiterate his invitation to visit Syria. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, including the religious field, with two sides emphasizing to uphold the values of the true Islamic religion of tolerance and moderation, and rejecting extremism and deviant ideas that contradict these values. The two sides also discussed the issue of resuming the Hajj, annual pilgrimage to Me cca for this year from Damascus, under the management of the Syrian Ministry of Endowments, where Soussan praised the efforts made by the Kingdom in this field to enable people to perform this duty easily.
