The Lebanese Health Ministry said 11 people were killed and others injured in two Israeli strikes in northern and southern the country on Monday. The raid on Aitou in the Zgharta region of northern Lebanon claimed nine people and wounded others, with rescue operations ongoing, the ministry said in a statement. This is the first time for the Maronite Christian Aitou to be targeted by Israeli strikes. Another raid on the southern town of Khirbet Selm killed two people, the statement added. Recently, the Israeli entity has further escalated its aerial and artillery bombardment that began in October 2023 to the capital Beirut, slaughtering and wounding thousands and forcing over a million people to flee their homes.
