An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale hit on Monday the Coquimbo region, northern Chile. The epicenter of the earthquake occurred 22 km from the city of La Serena in the region, at a depth of 66.4 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said. There have been no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake. In 2010, a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Chile, killing 500 people and triggering a tsunami. Chile is located along the Ring of Fire where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur. Source: Qatar News Agency
