An earthquake measuring 5.3 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Tonga on Wednesday. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said that the quake occurred 71 km east of Neiafu, at a depth of 138.3 km. There have been no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake so far. Tonga is an archipelago of 176 scattered islands, of which only 52 are inhabited in the South Pacific Ocean. It is located in northwest of New Zealand and Australia. Source: Qatar News Agency
