An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck on Monday the coast of the Northern Mariana Islands in the western Pacific Ocean. The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred 149 km from Saipan, at a depth of 10 km. There have been no reports of casualties or material losses due to the earthquake so far.
