A Hamas leader reveals details of the factions’ response to the ceasefire proposal

Beirut - Ma'an - The leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, Osama Hamdan, confirmed that the movement presented some observations on the American proposal regarding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and handed over the response of the Palestinian resistance to the mediators. Hamdan explained in an interview with Al-Mayadeen that the paper, which was received by the movement, talks about a ceasefire in Gaza, but it does not stipulate that it is permanent, while the American President had talked about a permanent ceasefire, revealing that the resistance added an amendment that takes this point into account. The Hamas leader indicated, Tuesday evening, that the amendments that were presented were based on an internal Palestinian dialogue, whether between the leadership of the resistance at home, or between its leadership abroad. In light of this dialogue, Hamdan revealed that three basic points were agreed upon, the first of which is that the resistance is capable of continuing the fighting in the fie ld, and that what was achieved in the Al-Aqsa flood confirms that the only and legitimate option for the Palestinian people is resistance. Hamdan added that the second point is to strive to achieve a ceasefire and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, stressing that 'the resistance cannot give up the rights of its people, under any circumstances.' Thirdly, he pointed out that the positivity of the resistance 'should not be read incorrectly,' or understood as prompting more concessions, stressing that it is 'respect for the efforts being made, and means adhering to rights.' Hamdan stressed that the resistance's response is a commitment to what it previously committed to, which is a ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, stressing that the Hamas leadership is not subject to pressure, and at the same time it is positive. Regarding the American positions regarding the war on Gaza, the Hamas leader explained that Washington is trying to give the Israeli occupation entity a chance, a nd is in harmony with it, and the disagreement is only tactical. Regarding the American decision in the Security Council, Hamdan confirmed to Al-Mayadeen that the resolution had loopholes and 'the original was to set a zero hour for a ceasefire,' noting that Hamas welcomed it because it included a ceasefire, relief for the Palestinians, and prisoner exchange negotiations. As for the Israeli operation in Nuseirat, Hamdan said that the occupation that tried to create an image of an achievement in Nuseirat was exposed and three of its prisoners were killed, revealing that the movement's information confirms the participation of members of the American 'Delta' division in the operation. The Hamas leader added that racism appeared in its true form when we see that the occupying entity killed and wounded a thousand Palestinians in Nuseirat, in the central Gaza Strip. Regarding the Israeli failure in the war, Hamdan stressed that his talk about the 'next day' is an illusion of his own making. As for the resistan ce, the 'next day' in Gaza is distinctly Palestinian, pointing out that the estimates presented to the Americans were that the war would take 6 weeks, but they are Ongoing for 8 months.
