Major General Osama Al-Qadi, Governor of Minya, confirmed that tourism in Egypt has witnessed a major boom thanks to the interest of the political leadership and the development of visions and strategic plans to develop this sector, as it is one of the main pillars of the national economy. He asserted that the state has been keen to invest in the unique tourism components that Egypt has. It has a long civilizational and cultural heritage extending across different eras, making Egypt one of the best global tourist destinations. He pointed out that Minya Governorate has witnessed a boom in the tourism sector, as it received tourist delegations from various countries of the world due to the governorate's abundance of archaeological areas, as it is the third governorate in Egypt rich in antiquities after Giza and Luxor governorates. The governor added that the archaeological areas and tourist attractions in Minya received a multinational tourist delegation. The visit program included the Beni Hassan archaeologi cal area, Tell el-Amarna, and Tuna al-Jabal. The governor gave directives to the concerned authorities to facilitate procedures for visitors, so as to help them to enjoy the many archaeological monuments. Source: State Information Service Egypt
