Manama, Asim Abdullatif Abdulla, Undersecretary of Agriculture and Animal Wealth Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, visited the National Agricultural Laboratories Centre in Hoorat A'ali, accompanied by Mohammed Mirza Al Oraibi, Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf Ahmed, Assistant Undersecretary for Animal Wealth, and several ministry officials. He highlighted the role of the centre in providing scientific contributions in the fields of animal health and the safety of agricultural products, noting the importance of its development to achieve the desired goals. During the visit, the Undersecretary was briefed on the specialized and qualitative laboratory departments, which are the plant protection laboratories (insects and plant diseases), soil laboratories, tissue culture, pesticides, food safety laboratory, water laboratories, molecular and serological techniques, parasites, and the microbiology laboratory. The Undersecretary said that the p resence of a laboratory centre in the agricultural and animal fields will contribute to enabling the diagnosis of diseases, whether agricultural or animal, ensuring the effectiveness of vaccination programs, and conducting scientific research and field and laboratory studies. He added that agricultural laboratories work to provide the best services to farmers and breeders and find appropriate solutions to ensure the safety of their products and improve their quality.
