Doha: The Qatari league champions, Al Sadd, have announced that they will hold their pre-season training camp in Malaga, Spain, in preparation for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. In a statement on its official "X" platform account, the club stated that the team will set up their training base at the Marbella Football Center in Malaga from July 9-29. The camp will feature several friendly matches to ensure the team reaches peak readiness before the new domestic league season kicks off on August 9th. Al Sadd are also gearing up for participation in the newly introduced AFC Champions League Elite, part of three new competitions by the Asian Football Confederation. The inaugural edition of this premier club tournament will commence in mid-September with the top 24 teams across Asia competing. Last season, Al Sadd secured the Qatari league and HH the Amir Cup double, and they aim to continue their domestic dominance while also reclaiming continental glory, having previously won the AFC Champions League titles in 1989 and 2011.
