Alba contributes a robotics unit to NVTC’s Engineering Track

Manama, In a major step to boost the technical capabilities of the youth in Bahrain, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has contributed a robotic unit for educational and training purposes to the engineering track at Nasser Vocational Training Centre (NVTC). This is to support the centre's efforts in providing students with hands-on and practical applications in the field of robotic operations. The robotic unit was handed over to the centre on May 20 in the presence of Ali Al Baqali, Alba's CEO, and Dr. Abdulla bin Naser Al Noaimi, the CEO of NVTC, along with a group of senior officials from both sides. "We are pleased to support NVTC's journey in robotics by equipping students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in robot design, programming, and operation. This initiative reflects not only our commitment to serving the Bahraini community but also our dedication to it. This initiative reflects not only our commitment to serving the Bahraini community but also our dedication to cultivating a culture of t raining and sharing practical knowledge," Al Baqali said. "We are proud to partner with Alba, one of the largest aluminium smelters in the world. This collaboration extends beyond regular contributions and encompasses various projects. Our Center's RandD arm plays a key role by providing Alba with innovative smart technology solutions, and in turn, Alba demonstrates its commitment to the Center's vision and mission. Their support empowers Bahraini youth by equipping them with industrial skills through practical training and curricula aligned with actual units used by Alba," CEO of NVTC, said. The Robotic unit was used at Alba's Casthouse 2 for the stacking of finished product bundles for more than a decade before being replaced by a higher generation unit. It will now be used for NVTC's robotics programme and enhance students' practical training and prepare them for successful careers in the rapidly evolving field of Robotics.
