An-Najah University is the first Palestinian university and is among the top 4% among Arab universities in the Times classification

Nablus - Together - An-Najah National University ranked first among Palestinian universities, and was ranked among the top 4% of Arab universities in the Times World Classification for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for the year 2024. The university occupied a prominent position in the list of the best 201-300 universities in the world, excelling On many international and Arab universities, achieving a new achievement added to its proven record. This achievement came after remarkable progress made by the university compared to last year, despite the increase in the number of participating universities. This year, 1963 international universities participated, including 289 Arab universities. An-Najah University was able to compete competently in all 17 sustainable development goals set by the United Nations, which reflects its commitment to achieving an effective and sustainable societal impact. The British magazine Times Higher Education issues its global rankings based on an evaluation of univ ersities' efforts in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations in 2015. These goals cover a wide range of social and economic development issues such as poverty, hunger, health, education, and change. Climate, gender equality, water, sanitation, energy, environment, social justice and others. To qualify for this ranking, participating universities are required to achieve at least four of the Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 17 (Partnerships to Achieve the Goals) as a mandatory target, in addition to the best three other goals achieved by the university. An-Najah University distinguished itself in achieving the goals of: peace, justice, strong institutions, responsible consumption and production, clean energy at affordable prices, and establishing global partnerships to achieve sustainable development goals. His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Zaid, President of the University, expressed his happiness at achieving this notable achievement, which reflects the university's continuous efforts to achieve sustainable development goals, and a sustainable and effective societal impact through education, research and partnership, stressing the university's continued endeavor to achieve sustainable development goals in a way that contributes to building a better future for all.
