Arab League has affirmed the importance of beefing up cooperation between regional, Arab, and Islamic human rights mechanisms in support of the Palestinian People. In a statement on Monday, Arab League pointed out that exerted efforts are unshakable, especially those related to urgent humanitarian aid, monitoring and documenting crimes and promoting the Palestinian cause before a wide diversity of universal human rights and judicial forums. Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector of Arab League, Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazala, said the ArabIslamic extraordinary summit that was held in November 2023, in Riyadh, formed the manifestations of this synergy. She added that the summit generated the current endeavors at the ministerial committees level assigned by this summit, in support of the indomitable Palestinian people against the ongoing aggression being launched by the de facto occupier. Abu Ghazala highlighted that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) Arab League signed Sunday Jun.30, 2024, with the Chairman of the Independent Permanent Commission for Human Rights, Ambassador Talal Khaled Saad Al Mutairi, represents a new milestone on the track of strengthening human rights and Arab and Islamic corporate partnership. She added that the MoU aims to promote awareness of human rights culture through capacity-building, preparing shared studies and research and convening seminars, lectures, and information exchange.
