Arab Parliament Speaker urges Arab action to stop holy Quran desecration in Sweden

Adel bin Abdulrahman Al Asoomi, Arab Parliament Speaker, has condemned and denounced, in the strongest words, the burning of a holy Quran copy by an extremist in the city of Malmo, Sweden, based on the approval of local authorities.

Al Asoomi waned of the recurrence of such dangerous acts that reflect religious hatred, provoke the feelings of Muslims all over the world and serve the agendas of violence and extremism.

The Arab Parliament Speaker renewed his call to sever diplomatic relations with Sweden, boycott its products and not to travel to it, calling on the Arab world to launch an international campaign to boycott Sweden economically in order to exert pressure on it to stop such encroachments that underestimate the feelings of Muslims and their sanctities.

He urged the International Community to take immediate action to put an end to such repeated attacks on the holy Quran, which are considered a crime against Islam, the right of religions and humanity.

He affirmed that those acts will remain a badge of shame worn by these societies that promote hatred and violence, noting that their practices prove that they are the closest people to racism, anarchy, and double standards, and are far from true freedom and respect for religions and peoples.
