Manama, The Public Prosecution announced the arrest of an individual of Asian nationality involved in the illegal trade of undersized fish. The case has been referred to the Minor Criminal Court. The Public Prosecution received a report from The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) stating that the individual was apprehended as a street vendor in possession of six refrigerators containing various marine species, including groupers, which were below the legally permitted size. Upon receiving the report, the Public Prosecution initiated an investigation, ordered the arrest of the individual, questioned him, and directed his pretrial detention pending further investigation. The accused has now been referred to the Minor Criminal Court for legal proceedings. Source: Bahrain News Agency
