Awqaf Says Registration for Upcoming Hajj Season Starts Wednesday

Registration for the upcoming Hajj season starts on Wednesday, the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs announced on Sunday.

Speaking at a press conference, Director of the Department of Hajj and Umrah Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri said that Qatari and residents can apply on hajj.gov.qa website from 8am on Wednesday, Sep. 20 till Oct. 20, 2023.

The early registration allows Qatari Hajj tour operators to round off their contracts with corresponding Saudi agencies and better services for pilgrims, Al Misifri said.

He added that the Saudi authorities has allocated the State of Qatar a hajj quota of 4,400 pilgrims, noting that the registration would be open to Qataris and residents.

Qatari applicants must be at least 16 years old, with the possibility of adding five companions. GCC nationals must be at least 18 years old and have the option to add only one companion. For residents, they must be at least 40 years old and completed a 10-year residency in the country. They are allowed to add only one companion.
