ManamaThe Kingdom of Bahrain condemned the ongoing Houthi detention of several Yemeni employees working for the United Nations (UN), the Embassy of the United States, international organisations, and other diplomatic missions. This act violated the rules of international law and diplomatic norms. A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the kingdom called for a response from international organisations and countries to release the detained staff. The ministry emphasised Bahrain's position in support of regional and international efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis, following the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and the UN Security Council Resolution 2216, to safeguard the sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and independence of Yemen and benefits its people.
