Manama, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia, co-chaired a discussion session to review parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, the two sides commended the historical Bahraini-Saudi relations and advanced strategic partnership, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. The meeting underscored the contributions of both countries in addressing Gulf, Arab, Islamic, regional, international, and humanitarian issues. It also emphasised their endeavours to advance principles of peace, coexistence, and the achievement of sustainable developmen t goals. The two sides reiterated their support of the two countries' cooperation, particularly in the economic and investment sectors. They highlighted the initiatives of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council and commended the resolutions and recommendations of the 33rd Arab Summit. Additionally, they discussed the development initiatives outlined in the Bahrain Declaration and the Kingdom's proposal for an international peace conference. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed during the session. It aims at serving joint interests in sustainable development and innovation. The MoU focuses on the promotion of knowledge exchange, diplomatic experiences, and parliamentary delegations between the two countries. It covers organising parliamentary coordination meetings on the sidelines of regional and international forums and fostering collaboration across various fields concerning the general secretariats of both councils.
