Manama, The Ministry of Information hosted an introductory session for the second edition of the "Media Talent Award 2024" at the American University of Bahrain, as a part of its support to young talent and enhancing their capabilities in various artistic fields. Bahraini directors and artists were invited including Jamaan Alrowaiei, Ahmed Saeed, and Mohammed Fareed, to share their experiences and contributions to the local and Gulf art scene. Jumaan Al Rowaiei, with over 43 years of experience, highlighted the importance of the award in supporting young talents and encouraged participants to take advantage of the workshops and training programs. He spoke about seizing opportunities like this award to help develop the next generation of artists. AlRowaiei reflected on his artistic career spanning over 43 years, which began at a young age. He mentioned that he started acting through school plays and continuously developed his skills across various areas of performing fields. He highlighted the enriching exp erience of collaborating with distinguished artists both locally and in the Gulf, allowing him to combine acting and directing. Ahmed Saeed engaged the participants in a unique exercise to test their vocal range by projecting their voices from the back of the auditorium to be heard at the front. This exercise aimed to instill confidence in the participants and help them discover their talents, emphasising that artistic ability is innate but requires exploration and expression. Director Mohammed Fareed spoke about transitioning from an academic and accounting background to becoming a filmmaker, highlighting opportunities and challenges throughout the journey and his success in producing short films. He he fully immerse in filmmaking in 2018, producing short films that participated in international festivals. In 2022, he directed his short film 'Twisted', which was well-received by critics and screened at an international festival. Fareed also shared that he will participate in the 24th annual Screamfest Ho rror Film Festival in Hollywood for his latest film. Additionally, Fatima Shabeeb, a member of the award committee, provided insights into the "Media Talent Award 2024", emphasising the importance of the platform for young artists.
