General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received a delegation from the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates today. The meeting with the delegation, led by Colonel Dr. Ali Mubarak Al Zaabi, was attended by Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Director General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing. At the outset of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the delegation's visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, aimed at learning about Bahrain's experience in implementing the alternative sentencing project and the open prisons programme, which aim at contributing to enhancing societal security and stability. During the meeting, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah lauded the deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UAE, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE. The minister commended ongoing security cooperation and coordination between the two countries an d the joint commitment to exchange expertise within the framework of maintaining collective security and the interests of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states.
