Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Amjad Barham met on Thursday with a delegation from UNICEF, which included UNICEF Special Representative Jane Goh, Education Officer Banji Tshamdamba, and UNICEF Education Specialist Laila Daibes, to discuss issues and topics of interest to education, especially in light of the current circumstances and developments. Barham touched on the nature of interventions and support for education in the Gaza Strip through virtual schools that provide education to displaced Gaza students and those abroad, stressing the importance of providing a safe educational environment for all students to obtain their right to education, appreciating UNICEF's efforts and its keenness to serve children in various fields, most notably education. The meeting witnessed the honoring of Chamadamba on the occasion of the end of their official duties in Palestine, and in appreciation of her role in supporting education in Palestine, and her belief in the right of Palestinian children to edu cation and learning. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of Education, Dr. Nafeh Assaf, and the Director of International and Public Relations, Nevin Musleh. Source: Maan News Agency
