BFA President: Bahrain fully supports Saudi Arabia’s bid to host 2034 FIFA World Cup

Manama, Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA), affirmed Bahrain's full support for Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Shaikh Ali underscored that Saudi Arabia has all the necessary attributes to successfully host the world's biggest football event. He emphasised the strong ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, reflecting the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted that Saudi Arabia's initiative to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup aligns with the vision of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, marking a milestone in the country's sports development. Shaikh Ali highlighted that Bahrain's support for Saudi Arabia's bid aligns with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS). This support also aligns with the initiatives of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He called on all associations to unite behind Saudi Arabia's bid, stating that this support would showcase the significant progress of Saudi football at both Asian and international levels. He praised the efforts of those leading Saudi Arabia's bid, including HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and Yasser Al Misehal, President of the Saudi Football Federation. Shaikh Ali reiterated Bahrain's belief in the prominent role of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation in advancing Asian and international football.
